Web nerd extraordinaire? Join our support team!
Can you update your Twitter status, send an email and use your favorite web application all at once? Do you like helping other people out, especially other web designers? You're probably just who we're looking for.
What's the job like?
Campaign Monitor is an email newsletter web application built for web designers. They can send newsletters for themselves and their clients, and even rebrand it as their own product to earn a profit when their clients send emails.
Our support team help other designers use Campaign Monitor more effectively. Our customers area already savvy designers, so this isn't your typical help desk role. You'll need to work with them to troubleshoot their HTML emails, provide suggestions on how to use features better, and offer advice on working with Campaign Monitor to build their business.
A typical day in this role could include:
- Direct customer support through email, answering questions and recording suggestions
- Working with our developers to keep them informed of any problems
- Updating help documentation for Campaign Monitor
- Ordering your lunch via our internal web application
- Getting involved in the Campaign Monitor forums
- Adding a new gallery entry to the blog
- Chatting to our customers and other designers over Twitter.
Apart from the direct support you'll also be involved in gathering feedback from customers and influencing the future direction of Campaign Monitor. We rely on our support staff to represent the needs of our customers.
Who should apply for this job?
We're looking for the kind of person who leaves tracks all over the web, whether that's through
- Writing your own blog
- Commenting on your favourite blogs
- Connecting with people on Twitter
- or doing something so new even we haven't heard of it yet.
You'll be keeping up with what is happening in the web through your RSS reader or bookmarking service, even if you don't get to do it in your current job. We're not looking for someone who doesn't use a computer at home, or who doesn't know who Zeldman is.
If you want to be able to help our customer community out, you need to be a part of that community just like we are. You will need to have excellent written English, and the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and with empathy.
The perfect person will be someone who...
- Already lives in Sydney (it's essential for this role)
- Has some good HTML and CSS knowledge
- Loves the web and is actively using tools like blogs, twitter and forums
- Has a keen interest in web applications
- Ideally has past support experience (fantastic, but not essential)
This position is perfect for a designer who is looking to get their hands dirty in other fields like building communities online and educating other designers.
